CAS: Not Available
Description: alpha-Kdo-(2->4)-alpha-Kdo-(2->6)-lipid IVA is an intermediate in (Kdo)2-lipid A biosynthesis I pathway in E.coli. It is a substrate for the enzyme lauroyl acyltransferase which catalyzes the reaction a dodecanoyl-[acp] + alpha-Kdo-(2->4)-alpha-Kdo-(2->6)-lipid IVA -> alpha-Kdo-(2->4)-alpha-Kdo-(2->6)-(lauroyl)-lipid IVA + a holo-[acyl-carrier protein]. It is also a intermediate in superpathway of (Kdo)2-lipid A biosynthesis (BioCyc compound: KDO2-LIPID-IVA) .
(KDO)2-lipid A (PAMDB006296)
IUPAC:
Not Available
CAS: Not Available
Description: (KDO)2-lipid A is an intermediate in the synthesis of LPS. It has two 3-deoxy-D-manno-octulosonic acid (KDO) sugar residues in place of the core, and has no O-antigen.
ADP-L-glycero-beta-D-manno-heptose (PAMDB006297)
IUPAC:
Not Available
CAS: Not Available
Description: ADP-L-glycero-beta-D-manno-heptose is an intermediate in pathway Lipid A-core biosynthesis in Pseudomonas aeruginosa. It is a substrate for enzymes ADP-heptose:Kdo2-lipid A heptosyltransferase, ADP-heptose:LPS heptosyltransferase, lipopolysaccharide core heptosyltransferase and lipid A-core heptosyltransferase. In pathway ADP-L-glycero-beta-D-manno-heptose biosynthesis, it is a product for enzyme ADP-L-glycero-D-mannoheptose-6-epimerase which catalyzes the reaction ADP-D-glycero-beta-D-manno-heptose -> ADP-L-glycero-beta-D-manno-heptose (PMID: 11751812; BioCyc compound: ADP-L-GLYCERO-D-MANNO-HEPTOSE).
3-deoxy-D-arabino-heptulosonate-7-phosphate (PAMDB006299)
IUPAC:
Not Available
CAS: Not Available
Description: 3-Deoxy-D-arabino-heptulosonate-7-phosphate is a member of the chemical class known as Medium-chain Keto Acids and Derivatives. These are keto acids with a 6 to 12 carbon atoms long side chain. DAHPS is involved in the biosynthesis of aromatic amino acids. Maritima DAHP synthase is a metalloenzyme. This report is the first description of a thermophilic eubacterial DAHP synthase. (PMID 12743122) DAHPS(Phe) is a metal-catalyzed oxidation system wherein bound substrate protects active-site residues from oxidative attack catalyzed by bound redox metal cofactor. (PMID 10049398) The first regulatory step in the synthesis of aromatic amino acids is catalyzed by 3-deoxy-D-arabino-heptulosonate 7-phosphate synthase (DAHPS). (PMID 15378531) While several similarities exist between the two enzymatic reactions, classic studies on the Pseudomonas aeruginosa enzymes have established that DAHPS is a metalloenzyme, whereas KDO8PS has no metal requirement. aeolicus KDO8PS is a metalloenzyme in vivo and point to a previously unrecognized relationship between the KDO8PS and DAHPS families.
